GARDEN STUDY WEEK-END
August 24, 25 and 26
Opening night cocktail party and rare plant sale on Friday evening, followed on Saturday by all day Symposium entitled New Gardening, featuring keynote speaker Jinny Blom, the award winning English garden designer - joined by celebrated garden writers Bill Cullina, Eric T Fleisher, et al. .
Sunday, August 26 - Garden Conservancy Open Day tour of HHG and other outstanding gardens in the area.
Our second biennial Hollister House Garden Study Weekend last August was by all accounts a great success. Beginning with a gala evening in the garden on Friday, the locus of events moved on Saturday to the Washington Montessori School where guests were invited to begin the day with the opportunity for early buying at the Rare Plant Sale, followed by a roster of distinguished speakers whose topics ranged from the sublimely sophisticated gardens of Peter Wirtz to Jill Nokes' entertaining account of the dirt gardeners of rural Texas. On Sunday a tour of extraordinary gardens capped off the weekend, several among them having never, or rarely, been opened before to the general public.
We look forward to the next Study Weekend in 2012
